Hanover Township – Prevention Services Manager
Hanover Township Youth and Family Services is currently accepting applications for a full-time Prevention Services Manager. The Prevention Services Manager assists with meeting the mission of the department by providing direct services and management to the Prevention Services Division. This position works to prevent juvenile delinquency and promote positive youth development which includes overseeing the Alternative Supports Program and the Izaak Walton Youth Center teen activities including weekly drop-in teen nights and monthly teen programming with local park districts. Oversee the implementation of outcome- based research in outreach and prevention programs. Participant of the Youth and Family Services Managerial Team in the oversight of applicable Township programs and functions.
The exempt position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and the salary is $65,000 /- DOQ annually. The hours are typically Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM with the ability to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education, or related field.
- Four years of position related experience.
- Experience utilizing an electronic records system or willingness to learn.
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Willingness to work regular evenings and occasional weekends as requested.
- Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license.
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit, use fingers in a repetitive motion, twist and turn for long periods of time.
- Requires the operation of a motor vehicle.
- This position is primarily executed indoors. However, it may require contact with outdoor weather at special event activity participation.
- Contact with low noise levels common in an indoor working environment. Moderate to high noise levels may be experienced during certain youth activities.
Desired Education/Experience/Skills:
- Master’s degree in social work, human services, education, or related field.
- Experience in developing leadership skills and grants administration.
- Two years of experience in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
