Desktop Technician 1

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Operations and Support –
   1. Provide professional first contact for users experiencing IT related issues.
   2. Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all end-user resources.
   3. Perform remote troubleshooting when necessary through diagnostic techniques and asking pertinent questions.
   4. Configure and deploy end-user equipment, i.e. Desktops/Laptops, Thin Clients, Tablets and Peripherals.
   5. Complete tickets assigned by internal ticket managing system, elevating when appropriate.
   6. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
   7. Travel to various Co-op locations as needed to work on hardware, or software
2. Maintenance -
   1. Apply patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
   2. Upgrade and configure end-user applications.
   3. Maintain knowledgebase, operational, configuration, or other procedures.
   4. Implement ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
   5. Maintain asset database of end user equipment.
3. Adhere to all Co-op policies, procedures and the employee code of conduct
4. Other duties as assigned

 EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Associate's degree in a related field OR 2 years of Desktop Support experience
• Required experience
  • Proven experience as a help desk technician or other customer support role
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of remote access systems
