Status: Non Exempt, Hourly
Position Responsibilities
Manually and accurately input high volume data pertaining to receiving, storing, and shipping of grain for all company locations. Maintaining and manage customer orders, correspondence and contracts.
Essential Position Functions
- Maintain current and up to date daily invoicing, applying incoming cash and processing AP
- Process grain and/or freight settlements accurately and in a timely manner.
- Resolve discrepancies on accounting records between customers and the company.
- Collaborate with traders, accounting, and customers to accurately maintain customer accounts
- Ensure grain is settled with clients in accordance with contract specifications and company policy.
- Provide timely turnaround of payments and invoices to many customers.
- Reconcile shipments, receipts, payments, and contract balances
- Maintain excel worksheets for inventory and invoicing detail
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Required
Education and/or Experience
- Associates Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and/or Industry Certifications preferred or combination of education and experience desired.
- Plus, 2 years of relevant work experience in a fast paced, office setting environment.
- Prior experience in the grain or freight industry is highly desirable.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations with limited standardized procedures. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished with written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Computer Skills
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be comfortable using a variety of computer software, including spreadsheet software and word processing software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time at a computer and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is moderately required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
