Position Summary: Hanwha Convergence USA is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BD Manager) with strong technical judgment and excellent communication skills. This role will focus on executing solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) O&M bids and proposals for new projects, as well as driving business development efforts.
The key responsibilities will include supporting proposal works by setting the project scope, estimating costs, performing technical and economic analyses, writing proposals, and assessing the competitiveness of various technologies in the market. The role involves working closely with affiliate parties and external stakeholders. A key part of the role will be building and maintaining relationships across the solar and BESS industries, ensuring strategic collaboration. The BD Manager will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet challenging deadlines while delivering high-quality results.
This position requires a strong understanding of the solar and BESS sectors, along with the ability to navigate competitive market dynamics. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, capable of working independently, and skilled in both technical and commercial aspects of business development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform O&M and Field Services business development works.
- Contribute to internal bid and proposal schedule to ensure all documents are completed accurately and on time for internal review and final submission.
- Gather, assess, and validate customer requirements, identifying related needs and constraints that impact a winning proposal.
- Work closely with Business Development teammates.
- Coordinate efforts across functional teams to deliver timely responses on accelerated timelines.
- Implementation of standardized bid & proposal procedures and governance.
- Creation of budgets and estimates with detailed scope of work-related proposal components.
- Research pricing to secure bid confidence.
- SOW cost breakdown and initial price presentation.
- Introduction and implementation of all necessary proposal procedures and governance.
Manage multiple projects, consistently meet high standards with attention to quality and detail.
BD support and customer introductions to Executive team
Support Field Services in cost and time estimation for ongoing work and headcount assumptions.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all company levels.
- Ability to present, explain and defend your strategy and adjust according to collected inputs.
- Field Technical experience preferred.
- Previous experience managing proposals including both firm-fixed price and cost-type contracts.
Manage multiple projects to consistently meet high standards and be attentive to quality.
Ability and willingness to travel to projects sites and meetings as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering, Communications, Business Administration
- 3-5 years’ experience managing PV and BESS proposals.
- 3-5 years’ experience drafting field work proposals including wire management, MV/HV repairs, inverter repairs, module replacement.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and processes.
