The Sales Director for Standard Integrally Geared Compressors in the Americas will oversee and drive the growth of sales across North, Central, and South America. This leader will develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand market share, manage regional sales teams, and foster strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in industrial equipment sales, extensive knowledge of integrally geared compressors, and the ability to adapt strategies to the unique needs of the Americas region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Regional Sales Strategy and Execution:
Develop and execute a regional sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market penetration for standard integrally geared compressors.
Identify key growth opportunities in the Americas, including industry segments like Automobile, Cement, Steel, Food etc, geographic areas, and new applications.
Market Development and Customer Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industrial clients, EPC contractors, and OEMs across the Americas.
Actively pursue new business opportunities through market research, client networking, and industry events.
Serve as the primary contact for high-value customers, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing sales team across the Americas
Set clear goals, provide coaching, and monitor performance to ensure team success.
Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions for customers.
Business Expansion:
Drive market expansion in targeted sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, power generation, and other industrial applications.
Identify and develop strategic partnerships with regional distributors and agents.
Sales Operations and Performance Management:
Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to ensure objectives are met or exceeded.
Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market feedback to senior leadership.
Optimize sales processes and tools to enhance team productivity.
Technical Expertise and Regional Adaptation:
Leverage a strong understanding of integrally geared compressors to effectively position the product line.
Stay informed about regional market trends, regulatory requirements, and competitive landscape.
Partner with technical teams to ensure product offerings align with customer requirements and regional demands.
Requirements / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 10 years proven experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within the power generation, energy and/or oil and gas industries
- Extensive network and relationships within North American energy market, including industrial companies, utilities and government entities.
- Proven experience in utility or small-scale power generation and sales, EPC contracting, PPAs and contract management skills
- Ability to manage multiple remote resources and coordinate activities across multiple office, multiple internal organizations and business partners
- Knowledge in aspects of rotating machinery and/or oil and gas facility operations
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multi-faceted working environment and new businesses
- Office based role in Houston, Texas
