ABOUT THE ROLE
Provides business-related support for the operations process to ensure the performance of Internal Control Check List that helps the organization to reduce errors, incidents and potential fraud. The ICCL is aligned with our risk management and seeks to ensure consistency with the principles, activities and documentation for managing our internal controls. Also, this role supports operations process ensuring operational catalogues are maintained with efficiency and aligned with the business concept. As a Coordinator, the incumbent in this position applies advanced skills, serving as a resource in resolving complex, non-routine problems, and issues. They may orient, train, and check the work of other team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the execution of the ICCL, follow-up on the exemption with other operational departments, and proper documentation and approvals in the system.
- Facilitate the implementation and communication with recommendations from corporate departments (Audit, etc.).
- Perform quality audits and validations.
- Coordinate monthly reviews with Management, Directors and SVPs.
- Responsible for reviewing the performance trends with the teams
- Train the departmental POE to ensure the understanding and promotion of ICCL
- POE of ICCL with the enhancements, logic changes and guidelines and communication within the region.
- Define base routes, location, missing inland routing, GEO coordinates, inland restrictions and re-define location structure.
- Provide ad-hoc statistics from all relevant systems to support analysis from Management and Operations Staff
- Support the OPSS team with quarterly system updates as required for NUS
- Support the OPSS manager with ad hoc projects and initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree and 2 years’ experience in the Maritime Industry or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Understands most shipping terms; can use a dictionary to find terms not recognized. Is willing to clarify shipping terms unique to a location. Understands routings, schedules and general practices of various countries, carriers, ports, and terminals.
- Proficient in MS Office (e.g., MS Teams, Advance Excel level - required, PowerPoint, etc.) and other software appropriate to work demands.
- Analytical driven mindset, process and improvement management
- High proficient communication (verbal, written) skills and body language required due to exposure with Upper Management, Internal/external auditors and training.
- Self-dependency and proactiveness skills
