ABOUT THE ROLE
Provides business-related support for the operations process to ensure catalog quality for correct business steering and provides management information and operational analysis. As a Coordinator, the incumbent in this position applies advanced skills, serving as a resource in resolving complex, non-routine problems, and issues. They may orient, train, and check the work of other team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure weekly maintenance and quarterly system updates are accurate and up to date within the Region, as it relates to costs and business steering.
- Present quarterly results to Management for the business impact.
- Analyze costs and volumes per inland lanes and terminals
- Maintain standard cost at truck, rail, feeder/barge and terminal level.
- Coordinate inland growth updates with Commercial teams.
- Action the outstanding quotations request with missing routes, rates as well shipment quality errors.
- Maintain bank holidays and steering catalogs, impacting Inland Delivery Team.
- Coordinate and perform maintenance of Base Route and Route/Point TRACO Service Catalogues for full and empty moves.
- Creation and maintenance of operational vendor match codes in system and coordinate maintenance of vendor hierarchy in organization catalogs.
- Provide ad-hoc statistics from all relevant systems to support analysis from Management and Operations Staff.
- Routing network maintenance in accordance with PREX - Define base routes, location, missing inland routing, GEO coordinates, inland restrictions / fixed sections and re-define location structure
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree and 2 years’ experience in the Maritime Industry or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Understands most shipping terms; can use a dictionary to find terms not recognized. Is willing to clarify shipping terms unique to a location. Understands routings, schedules and general practices of various countries, carriers, ports, and terminals.
- Uses maps, atlases, and other geographic reference material. Knows where the nearest ports and terminals are to customers or can use references to find that information.
- Knows best mode of transportation for ground transport between customer and terminal.
- Proficient in MS Office (e.g., MS Teams, Advanced Excel level - required, PowerPoint, etc.) and other software appropriate to work demands such as QV / QS knowledge.
- Analytical driven mindset, process and improvement management.
- High proficient communication (verbal, written) skills and body language required due to exposure with Upper Management, Internal/external auditors and training.
- Self-dependency and proactiveness skills.
