Job Summary
The purpose of this function is to assure that goods are loaded and transported on time by maintaining the Hapag-Lloyd Scheduling system, as well as managing the quality and timeliness of Marine data entered the company’s systems. The scheduling specialist makes decision with little supervision that impacts the company budget.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensures that Scheduling operations are efficiently performed in compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Guides, coaches, and supports the Scheduling department.
- Assist GSC to Maintain FIS schedules and port cutoffs for Region America
- Assist GSC to Creates data processors (DP’s)when necessary for the identification of voyages within FIS.
- Assists regional scheduling centers as needed to ensure schedule integrity between the Regions.
- Assist GSC to Maintain coastal schedule and archive mailboxes for Region America services.
- Develops new business processes for smoother workflows.
- Monitors and measures workload of GSC staff to ensure best process is in place.
- Supervision of Region America Areas and port offices to update arrived/sailed status.
- Assist IT Department when dealing with terminals concerning vessel information, voyage information sent via EDI and terminal IDs.
- Distribute all special scheduled changes including but not limited to port omissions.
- Participate in various Hapag-Lloyd working groups, business processes, and any areas as requested by management.
- Prepares vessel proforma analysis as needed.
- Provides training for staff on new systems, regulations, and requirements.
- Makes certain that all departmental and functional training requirements are fulfilled.
- Ensures consistent application of Hapag-Lloyd policies to all personnel actions
Job Qualifications
- University degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Marine Operations and/or Marine industry is required.
