Description

Job Title : Behavior Technician (Per Diem Hybrid)

Location : CP Rochester - Rochester, NY

Salary : $18.00 - $23.00 per hour commensurate with experience

Employment : This is a per diem position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.

Summary / Objective : To provide technical assistance to the Applied Behavior Sciences Specialist by collecting, analyzing and summarizing behavior data collected at CP Rochester IRA's. This includes presenting previously collected data at team meetings as well as summarizing data for upcoming psychiatry / counseling appointments. Responsibilities also include keeping behavior documents current in the charts located at the residence and monitoring plans for effectiveness.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a psychology related field and / or experience commensurate with a basic foundation in general psychology including knowledge of basic behavioral principles and concepts.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver's license and meet CP Rochester's Vehicle Operator Requirements. Must have reliable vehicle.

  • Essential Functions

  • Imparts agency philosophy of 'Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential' to children, families, program staff, and community resources.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
  • Provides support and consultation to staff as needed through training of staff, preparation of materials, and facilitating the implementation of individualized and / or House behavior plans.
  • Collect monthly behavior data.
  • Analysis of Data using Excel or other data analysis software.
  • Attend all meetings (ITTs, Team, ISPs) as needed and instructed by ABSS.
  • Presenting analyzed data to psychiatrist, counselors, social workers, and at team meetings.
  • Monitor and upkeep of the behavior section of individual data collection binders.
  • Monitoring plans for effectiveness.
  • Observing and reporting on the quality of implementation of behavior plans on the part of direct care employees.
  • To complete monthly behavior summaries of each person with a behavior plan.
  • To assist in non-specified technical duties related to providing excellence in behavioral support.
  • Provide QSS follow-up regarding data if and when needed.
  • To follow CP Rochester's incident reporting procedures and adhere to all CP Rochester policy and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well with others and to work independently.
  • Assisting the behavior specialist in group presentation, and BSP and information trainings.
  • Adheres to Agency's policies and procedures as well as department guidelines.
  • Participates in conferences, workshops, and in-service training as needed or recommended to enhance job skills and personal growth and development.
  • Performs other duties at the discretion of the ABSS or his / her designee.
  • Supervisory Responsibility : None.

    Work Environment : This job is a hybrid position operating both remotely and occasionally in residential settings.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and / or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move objects up to 30 pounds. The employee will occasionally work with children with behavioral overreactions and must be able to handle these situations.

    Travel : Travel is primarily local during the business day, but employee will be expected to work at any of our partner agencies.

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, internal equity, and location.
