What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Check-in Specialist position at Happy Tails Learning Center for Dogs & Fit Dog...?
We are looking to bring on a vibrant, energetic, happy, friendly person to be the face of our business! We are hiring a part-time administrative assistant who obviously LOVES dogs to help check pets in and out of our facility during peak hours Monday-Friday in the afternoon and some Saturdays and Sundays (as needed). You will be representing both companies that operate out of our location: Happy Tails Learning Center for Dogs and Fit Dog Canine Fitness & Wellness.
AVAILABILITY:
- Monday-Friday 3pm to 6:30pm
- Sporadic Weekends from 10-2pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is specifically to interface with our clients who come in to pick up their dogs from daycare or boarding or clients who are dropping their dogs off for boarding. There is no phone responsibility and no scheduling responsibilities. You are only checking dogs in and out. There is a lot of downtime in between so there may be some extra "busy" tasks to do if needed.
- Customer Service: Greet visitors and check their dogs in/out for boarding/daycare
- Administrative Tasks: Collect payment, complete check in/out process
- Team Communication: Communicate important information regarding dogs in our care to the rest of the team.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Communication: Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. We want someone bubbly, cheerful and fun!
- Computer skills: Be proficient in using office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc) and scheduling tools.
- Self-Sufficient: Work independently and be reliable.
PREREQUISITES:
Here's the deal...We work our tails off (get it?)! But we're also a fun group. So we want someone who can fit in with our team of goofballs but understands the importance of hard work! You must be willing and able to work with dogs of all temperaments and sizes. You need be willing to work independently and must be reliable. Candidate must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation and have a strong work-ethic. We are looking for candidates that have a go-with-the flow attitude (the dog world is often unpredictable), who will work hard, be reliable and who can work well with others.
- Previous experience in pet care or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience as a receptionist is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is crucial.
