Yard Operations Associate

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Hand to assist in the daily operations of our trailer storage yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving boats and trailers, maintaining the property, and providing excellent customer service while following instructions from the Yard Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Trailer and Boat Movement: Safely move boats and trailers within the yard using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklift, etc).

2. Property Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as:

· Cleaning the yard, including sweeping, blowing leaves, and removing debris.

· Maintaining yard equipment and performing periodic inspections of equipment, such as forklifts, trucks, etc.

· Small repairs to fences, gates, racks, and other yard structures as needed.

3. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by:

· Greeting customers and answering questions about the yard and services.

· Assisting customers with trailer and boat movements.

· Promptly directly customers to the Office Manager for inquiries and concerns.

4. Inventory Management: Assist the Yard Manager with:

· Tracking and recording trailer and boat movements.

· Maintaining accurate inventory records.

· Identifying and reporting any discrepancies or issues.

5. Safety and Security: Ensure a safe and secure environment by:

· Following yard safety procedures and protocols.

· Reporting any safety hazards or security concerns to the Yard Manager.

· Participating in regular safety training and drills.

6. Special Projects: Assist the Yard Manager with special projects, such as:

· Organizing and participating in yard events or promotions.

· Implementing new procedures or processes.

· Completing other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Ability to walk and/or stand for varying amounts of time; may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, climb, or crawl.

2. Equipment Operation: Experience operating yard equipment, such as forklifts.

3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills; bilingual preferred.

4. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with the Yard Manager and other team members.

5. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

6. Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience: Previous experience working in a yard or warehouse environment.

2. Certifications: Forklift operator certification preferred.

3. Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor repairs.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
