What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Housing Coordinator position at HARBOR VIEW HOTEL?
The Housing Coordinator contributes to the success of delivering the Harbor View experience through overseeing the employee housing property in a manner that ensures the reputation of the company on the island as well as its employer brand image and staff experience are positive.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-season and post-season walk-throughs of units for overall condition, unit report, and furniture inventory with the HR Managers. Video or photos of each unit before and after turnover.
- Number each room at each home to eliminate confusion of what rooms occupants are in.
- Manage the key distribution and proper storage.
- Create welcome packets are ready for associate arrival.
- Prepares housing accommodations for each arrival (making beds, ensuring all standards are in place)
- Greet each associate upon arrival to Martha's Vineyard/ their housing unit.
- Maintains working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and housing program.
- Preforms basic maintenance (touch up paint, plunge toilet, replace door locks, basic installs involving screws, etc.) and troubleshooting for maintenance issues in the homes.
- Maintains spreadsheet of maintenance request and housing concerns and ensures all are addressed in a timely manor.
- Conduct weekly checks of all housing units.
- Maintains linen and housing supplies inventory
- Maintain housing payment spreadsheet recording when housing payments are made.
- Protect company and landlords by demonstrating and utilizing a thorough knowledge and understanding of the various lease agreements.
- Maintain positive landlord relationships by touching base with each landlord on a monthly basis.
- Enforce housing guidelines being sure to implement corrective action as needed.
- Manage lease turnover process
- Maintains positive staff relations by providing excellent service.
- Resolves conflict and communicates concerns to HR and/or GM.
- Resolves roommate concerns through mediation and other action as needed.
- Understands the corrective action process and implements within the housing setting.
- Be available to residents for questions and concerns.
- Distributes staff and resident communications within the housing.
- Understands and practices all aspects of safety including reporting procedures.
- Collects uniforms from company housing to return to the hotel.
- Protects the organization and staff by keeping the information confidential.
- Any other tasks assigned in relation to associate housing
Requirements
- This position requires a valid driver license and a vehicle.
- Legal US Work Authorization.
Experience
- Knowledge of Martha's Vineyard
- Previous experience living in a dormitory-style setting is a plus.
- Previous experience serving as a dormitory resident assistant is also a plus.
- Experience in home maintenance and repairs.
