What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Services Coordinator position at Housing Assistance?
Summary/Objective
The primary function of the Child Services Coordinator is to lead in planning, implementation, and evaluation of all children services programs including but not limited to, school enrollment, enrichment programs, and developmental programs. As with all shelter staff the Child Services Coordinator is responsible for the development of trusting, supportive and respectful relationships with clients and maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
Essential Functions
· In collaboration with the Operations Director, develop, implement, promote, and coordinate programs for resident children utilizing internal and community-based resources that meet the diverse needs of the client population.
· Engage with families and schools to ensure enrollment and transportation needs of all school age children.
· Record all school enrollment TouchPoints in ETO as required by EOHLC.
· Assist parents with daycare process including but not limited to applying for daycare vouchers and securing daycare placement.
· Maintain an up-to-date list of family service-related resources.
· Establish and maintain positive relationships with child service providers such as Horizons for Homeless Children and WIC.
· Lead program planning for all children service programs. Maintain records for all programs.
· Perform program evaluations for program improvement and determination of success. Reporting and evaluation may include data reporting, attendance records, and written success stories
· Plan, organize and lead occasional outings and field trips.
· Maintain the upkeep of the indoor and outdoor play spaces.
· Collaborate and oversee any volunteers that participate in child programs.
Additional Duties
· Attend meetings with outside agencies as required.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in human service or social science field or 5 years’ experience working with homeless or low-income families.
· Strong written and oral communication, personnel management, and conflict resolution skills.
· Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with clients, staff, and community professionals.
· Ability to work effectively during a crisis.
· Possess well-developed decision-making skills.
· Computer proficiency with thorough knowledge of MS Word and MS Outlook
· Valid MA driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications, Education, and Experience
· Experience developing, managing, evaluating, and operating programs serving homeless population, particularly experience with homeless families.
· Knowledge of community resources
· Bilingual

Work Environment
· The functions of this role are conducted in an office and field environment.
Hours of Work
· This role is paid on a salaried basis.
· Typically, full-time salaried employees work 35 hours during Monday through Friday. However, this is a salaried position. Therefore, the individual is expected to work as required to complete the position's duties. This may mean hours beyond 35 per week are required.
