7 credit / year administrative, 2 credits / year tracking and grading
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Dental Hygiene Periodontal Laboratory, Local Anesthesia Laboratory and related dental hygiene clinical experiences
SUPERVISION :
Dental Facilities Coordinator in respect to clinic operations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development and Coordination of Specialty Laboratory Courses
Perio Lab (May )
Research new technology and skills to introduce to students during laboratory; present to Clinic Committee for review / approvalCoordinate faculty schedule with Program DirectorCoordinate and calibrate all laboratory faculty including evaluation criteria and gradingDevelop and coordinate schedule for laboratory course with timeline and student rotation scheduleCoordinate guest presentations / lectures (if applicable)Prepare forms packets / syllabi for all students in conjunction with Administrative AssistantArrange SADHA Lunch with junior / senior clinic coordinator(s)Local Anesthesia Lab (October)
Confirmation of local anesthesia injection dates for second year clinic with the Senior Clinic Coordinator and Program DirectorCoordinate faculty schedule with Program DirectorDevelop and coordinate schedule / timeline and student rotation schedule for injection datesPrepare forms packets / syllabi for all students in conjunction with Administrative AssistantArrange SADHA Lunch with junior / senior clinic coordinator(s)Conduct faculty calibration sessions each injection date with all clinical faculty participating in eventClinical Manual, Clinic Advising / Evaluation Manual and Clinical FormsReview and submit revisions of comprehensive clinic manual to Clinic CommitteeReview and submit revisions to the clinic advising / evaluation manual to theClinic Committee
Faculty Clinical CoordinationWith the Junior Clinic Coordinator, Senior Clinic Coordinator and Radiology Coordinator, arrange 2-3 evening clinical faculty meetings per year to review clinic policies, provide updates on current clinic topics, provide educational methodology training, and to provide faculty calibration. Assisting in preparation of meeting agenda items and minutes will rotate depending on which coordinator is facilitating at the meeting.Plan faculty calibration sessions for clinical faculty in conjunction with full time coordinatorsHarcum Clinical FacilityEvaluate and report the need for any new or replacement equipment to the Dental Programs DirectorOversee the responsibilities of the Dental Facilities Coordinator / Administrative Assistant to ensure that the following responsibilities are accomplished in a timely mannerInventory for Harcum Clinic

For special labs (periodontal and anesthesia)Clinic Advising / EvaluationAdvise second year students in the fall and spring semestersPerio I Lecture, Perio II Lecture, Anesthesia LectureUpdate and revise lecture content to maintain compliance with current standards of carePreparation of didactic syllabiCommunicate with Program Director regarding curriculum and protocol updatesCollaboration with Program Director and Supervising Dentist in team teaching scenariosEnsure the duplication and distribution course materials for students in conjunction with the Administrative Assistant.Post relevant course materials on Canvas for student accessQUALIFICATIONS :
Masters Degree or significantly in process and. at least 2-3 years experience with clinical education and teaching didactic courses
