POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent in this position is responsible for overseeing and supervising the activities of the Count Room to ensure the integrity of currency counting derived from casino games, as well as ensuring compliance with Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission regulations.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Hire, train, evaluate, motivate, count room team members in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Maintain protection of extremely large amounts of coin and/or currency, ensuring prevention loss by providing extreme care and attention to detail.
- Ensure that procedures and proper controls are affected to protect counted receipts.
- Ensure close control of all activity in the count room by maintaining an awareness of changes and/or problems, which may affect the security of the coin/currency in the count room.
- Maintain visual surveillance of personnel, ensuring prevention of monetary loss.
- Schedule count room personnel.
- Observe count, reviews count slips, and reconciles total funds to ensure the integrity of the count.
- Transfer receipts to the cage and the corresponding documentation to the accounting department daily.
- Order and stock parts for equipment repair to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the equipment.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must have ability to:
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
- Identify different denominations of currency and quickly count currency.
- Retrieve full and empty cashboxes.
- Move cash boxes weighing up to 20 lbs. and push/pull the drop cart, with assistance, which can weigh up to 2000 pounds.
- Remain standing for majority of shift and make way around the count room in an efficient manner.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of currency and currency counter/sorter, and 10-key.
- Knowledge of currency handling operations.
- Knowledge of Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission regulations.
- This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a minimum of three years cashiering or banking experience, or related experience.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
- Attend required training sessions offered by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City
- Ability to obtain an Iowa Racing Gaming Commission (IRGC) gaming license, arranged for by employer upon offer of employment.
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member's department.
- Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
- Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
