POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Business Partner serves as a liaison between team members and management for issues and concerns. The HRBP will provide guidance to management on team member coaching to maintain consistency. This individual will be expected to perform intermediate human resource functions and assignments including but not limited to, employee relations, labor relations, training and development, serve in a consulting capacity to managers at Hard Rock Casino Rockford.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Foster a positive work environment through employee and labor relations programs, events, and rewards.
- Manage projects, conduct investigations, and serve as an expert on ER issues including FMLA, ADA, and policy interpretation.
- Conduct thorough internal investigations and identify appropriate resolutions, including performance consequences.
- Analyze data to assess business partner needs and develop recommendations.
- Provide strategic input to department management to develop and manage their workforce.
- Act as a liaison between the union and the property, overseeing all aspects of labor relations.
- Assists Director of HR with administration of collective bargaining agreement.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and employment/labor laws.
- Respond to team member relations issues through counseling and problem- solving.
- Consult with management to resolve team member concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
- Work with legal resources to investigate and respond to government agency claims.
- Administer unemployment claims and participate in hearings.
- Conduct exit interviews, monitor turnover trends, and recommend retention strategies.
- Train leadership on performance management, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Provide HR training and education on critical topics.
- Establish credibility and trust with team members.
- Maintain organized documentation of investigations and legal matters.
- Handle team member information confidentially.
- Adhere to Illinois Gaming Board Regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)
The knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school education and three years’ experience in Human Resources or related work experience and/or through a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Board requirements.
- Pass background check.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Work holidays and weekends, and flexible shifts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
