Position Overview:
Peer Navigator will work with the high acuity clients referred from Signal Behavioral Health. They will meet them where they are and support them in setting and achieving goals in line with their pathway(s) of recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifies or contacts members of high-acuity or otherwise targeted groups such as members of involuntarily committed clients, recently incarcerated clients or pregnant women / women with small children seeking.
- Maintains database with up-to-date resources in Colorado.
- Attends community meetings and individual outreach meetings to understand community issues and to build relationships with community members.
- Distributes flyers, brochures, or other informational or educational material to inform members of a targeted community.
- Offers resources to clients, coaches, and outside organizations.
- Supports their clients in regularly scheduled coaching sessions.
- Supports clients using coaching tools such as motivational interviewing, SMART goals.
- Advocates for individual or community needs with government agencies or service providers.
- Provide information on how clients can apply for social services including Medicaid or Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
- Support Employees and Contract workers of HardBeauty and HardBeauty Foundation in obtaining resources for clients by responding in the client resource chat.
- Conduct outreach and community engagement to develop relationships with providers in order to serve IC clients more efficiently.
- Offer assistance at HardBeauty Headquarters, or other HardBeauty locations.
- Participates in regular staffing meetings with Signal and internal meetings at HardBeauty Foundation.
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPFS, Choices, or CCAR equivalent.
- IC/RC
- Lived experience in recovery.
- Reliable insured transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in-person across various settings.
- Strong understanding of recovery resources, peer support principles, and trauma informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Familiarity with addiction and mental health challenges and a commitment to supporting others through similar experiences.
- Proficiency in technology with a willingness to learn new tools and software, essential for working in a largely virtual company environment.
- Proficient in maintaining confidential records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable, with a commitment to professional boundaries and ethical standards.
- Strong technology skills to support virtual communications, record-keeping, and remote support.
- Knowledge of community health resources.
- Understanding of general recovery language.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse population effectively and establish trust.
- Effective active listening skills and social perspectives.
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to drive to meet IC clients where they are.
