Deputy Clerk Job Description
General Responsibilities:
The Deputy Clerk is responsible for providing direct customer service and administrative support at the Hardin County Municipal Court. The Deputy Clerk’s role is to provide information and assistance on the phone and in person; create, process and maintain Court documents/records and handle financial transactions.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Utilizing the Court’s software and word processing to correctly input and manage case data
- Generating letters, mailings and reports
- Processing and scanning Court filings and other paperwork pertaining to Court records
- Proofreading, verifying and analyzing records
- Assisting at the Court window
- Answering phone inquiries
- Receipting and balancing money
- Handling mail, filings, using office equipment
Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Computer skills (Word, accurate data entry, typing)
- Phone skills
- Understanding of cash receipting and accounting basics
- Organizational and task management skills
Education and Experience:
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate and work well with others. Strong attention to detail along with a high level of proficiency and accuracy in using Word/office applications and cash handling. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in administrative/clerical roles desired.

Pay: $13.75 per hour
