You must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds during a scheduled work shift and be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance.

- Position patients on examining tables and adjust equipment to obtain optimal views of specific body areas
- Use beam-restrictive devices and patient-shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
- Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer-generated methods
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
