The Part-Time Armed Security Officer is responsible for the overall security of the School campus, personnel and students. He/she serves as a key member of the Department of Security, and must be able to lead the department in all emergency/crisis planning, and serve as the liaison between the School and the local police and other emergency providers in the absence of the Director of Security.
Wage will be commensurate with education and experience.
The employee must maintain a level of physical fitness that allows them to perform the job at a high level. The employee must be willing to participate in a physical fitness program and will be able to train in the School’s fitness room when available during off-duty hours. The employee must be able to pass a quarterly physical fitness test. The employee must provide a certificate from a medical doctor that they are able to participate in a physical fitness program.
This is a part-time 12-month hourly non-exempt position at approximately 5 hours per day from 3:30pm until 8:30pm.

Qualifications/Experience
Requirements:
- High school degree or higher
- Background in security, law enforcement, or military is preferred.
- Must have, or be able to attain, a current Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit and Tennessee Armed Guard license, and must recertify every 2 years pursuant to applicable statutes of the Tennessee Code Annotated.
- Must be willing to successfully complete specific and appropriate ongoing firearms training.
Preference: Knowledge of schools and the educational landscape is preferred.
