Quality Technician
The position requirements for the Quality Technician position are as follows:
Education:
Two-year degree in Machine Tool Technology, or a high school diploma/general education degree (GED) with equivalent experience in Gage calibration or parts inspection is required.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years related experience working on a manufacturing team with machinists and engineers preferred. Experience in using a variety of metrology tools required. Reading and interpreting single part prints & assembly drawings required. Knowledge of or experience in operating/programming of a CMM preferred.
The successful candidate is detailed oriented and works well as a data driven collaborator with minimal supervision; maintains high degree of organization, accurate reporting, effective communication, and capable of interacting professionally with team members, suppliers, and external customers.
Specific Technical Knowledge:
- Must have fundamental mechanical and mathematical inspection knowledge.
- Must be capable of selecting and using gaging based on blueprint tolerances & spec. interpretation.
- Efficient computer skills (Word, E-mail, Excel, etc..)
Location: Elmira, NY
Responsibilities:
- Inspect products in relation to blueprints/technical specifications/test plan requirements
- Cross train as necessary to support calibration, CMM operation, instrumentation selection & usage.
- Present detailed inspection data in writing and/or verbally as requested.
- Flexibility to perform inspection duties in multiple shop areas as requested.
- Perform product & process audits with minimum supervision.
- Execute ISO documentation audits as requested.
- Contribute to site continuous improvement efforts.
