What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Lead Inspector position at Hardy Machine, LLC?
We are looking for a responsible Quality Lead Inspector to check the quality of all parts machined in our CNC Machine Shop and/or from a Vendor to ensure drawing and Customers' specifications are met. You will be a firm advocate of quality in our business. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential. The goal is to develop and maintain a system to assure all company products meet or exceed Customer specifications for quality and reliability. That way our customers will enjoy high-quality parts so that we can achieve long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for continuous improvement of our quality department.
- Improve upon our established system for first piece, in-process and final inspection.
- Responsible for making sure that first piece, in process and final inspection are done in a timely manner
- Responsibility of ensuring that work is done to the required quality specifications of our customers.
- Responsible for the inspection and documentation of all machining operations and outside vendor services.
- Responsible for contacting customers for verification of drawing specs and resolution of problems.
- Interfacing with customers, internal and external, in the event of rejects and implementing corrective and preventative action documentation.
- Work to and improve our quality system which ensures less than two percent (2%) of work is spoiled and that we improve our quality on an ongoing basis.
- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner within company rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- ISO: 9001-2015 experience as well as PPAP documentation experience.
- Proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role in a CNC Machine Shop
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems in a CNC Machine Shop
- Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- High School Degree; Further qualifications will be a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
