Welcome to The UPS Store! We have a brand new location that just opened and are looking for new sales associates to join our team!
As a UPS Store employee, you must be willing to deliver world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipments and operating copiers, fax machine, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. Associates are also expected to advise our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options while exhibiting confidence around best practices related to the industry.
The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Answer customer questions and provide product information
- Promote upselling and cross-selling of products to maximize sales
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves and monitoring stock levels
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service
Experience:
- Previous experience in cash handling and sales is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Proven ability to upsell products and meet sales targets
- Familiarity with technology sales, such as electronics or mobile devices, is a plus
- Experience in jewelry sales is a plus
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems to process transactions accurately
- Retail sales experience is preferredSkills:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer complaints or issues in a professional manner
- Multilingual skills are a plus, as it allows for effective communication with diverse customers
