What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: Generally responsible for total delivery of services safely, on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations on moderately complex projects.

Work at this level requires progressive experience in construction management (with a concentration in mechanical and piping field needs) and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule, and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision onsite at a client's facility in Lafayette, IN.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited To

  • Responsible for the management (safety / cost / schedule) of piping and mechanical construction activities.
  • Reporting on progress to the Site CM and Scheduler
  • Coordinating with contractors for daily work regimen
  • Working with Safety Manager to ensure all safety protocols are being followed
  • Attending daily construction meetings
  • Providing guidance on RFI’s and other issues that may arise during construction
  • Managing with QA/QC for inspection points or testing.
  • Coordinating with Material Manager for material tracking, storage and release for installation
  • Relevant subcontractor invoice reviews
  • Leading the weekly subcontract meeting for this trade

Ideal Background

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.

Experience: This position requires a minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction management or project related experience. Additional experience supporting Mechanical / Piping needs onsite at an industrial facility is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.
  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
