Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, jack-of-all trades, LARGELY competitive Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate daily operations of our Fencing company in Longview, Washington!
Aside from being able to curse in 5 languages, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, construction estimating, blueprint reading and has the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
This role requires excellent time management skills, computer literacy (that does not involve the wife doing it for them) a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with GC's and the owners.
We want someone with vision and drive who will help to grow the company, be able to add personnel as needed and can be afforded, and who ensures the company is profitable. If you know you can do the job and are willing to take on the challenge as described, then you will also be creating a larger and larger salary for yourself as the company grows and makes a good profit.
Duties
- Lead and manage construction projects and 2 crews, ensuring jobs are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Utilize construction management software such as Prolog and HeavyBid for project tracking and reporting.
- Oversee the construction site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
- Prepare and review contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure all parties understand their responsibilities and orders materials and cares for equipment.
- Manage project documentation, including complete estimates, contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Oversees ALL personnel
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in construction estimating techniques.
- Familiarity with Quickbooks or other software inwhich bids can be created and tracked and turned into invoices.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ability to build relationships with clients while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
