About the Role:
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team here at Harker. As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for assisting the CFO in managing the financial operations of the company. Your major end result will be to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, as well as to provide timely and accurate financial information to management. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred not required)
- 3 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the HVAC industry or other trades is a plus
- Experience with Service Titan is a plus
- Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Assist the CFO in managing the financial operations of the company
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts each month
- Work with Accounting Assistant to make sure vendor invoices are processed in a timely fashion
- Develop and implement an Accounts Receivable policy
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to management
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
Skills:
As an Assistant Controller, you will be using your strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records. You will also be using your proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software to provide timely and accurate financial information to management. Strong communication and analytical skills will also be essential in this role.
