Job Summary
Harley-Davidson is an iconic brand. Creating iconic products, unforgettable experiences and serving a passionate community for over 120 years. Within the EMEA region DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is our biggest market with an established dealer network and significant commercial contribution. SGM (Strategic Growth Markets) is smaller in size but has big plans for growth across a diverse geography spanning Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
This role will provide day-to-day marketing leadership across both markets. Developing and executing integrated marketing plans that drive brand awareness, generate leads, and increase sales. As well as being the key point of contact to the wider market sales and operations teams and the EMEA regional marketing hub. The ideal candidate is a creative and data-driven individual with strong leadership and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
- 360 marketing planning - ultimately accountable for the plan and successful execution of market and dealer level marketing. Feeding in to, and taking a strong lead from, global and regional strategy, plans and assets
- Manages channel execution and ongoing optimization - including paid media planning and buying, social media, earned media, email, dealer marketing and events
- Accountable for achieving market KPIs and objectives including demand and lead generation, earned media placements and value, social reach and engagement, and community membership metrics (acquisition, retention and satisfaction)
- Oversees event planning and execution enabling effective customer outreach including but not limited to motorcycle shows, exhibitions, dealer demo events, HOG events and others.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the marketing team, including setting goals, providing guidance, and mentoring team members.
- Integrate with Sales, Operations and Dealer Development peers in EMEA, DACH and SGM
- Monitor, analyse and optimize marketing campaign performance, track key metrics and ROI to ensure effective use of budget to meet objectives
Experience Requirements
Required
- Ability to translate shared EMEA vision and strategy into actionable marketing plans and results to deliver aligned key performance indicators
- Significant experience successfully leading marketing teams, plans and strategies across multiple countries
- Demonstrated excellence in leading people and creating a positive culture. Welcoming and inclusive interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building successful collaborative relationships.
- Strong understanding of digital-first omnichannel approach to reaching and influencing multiple consumer types in an evolving marketplace
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and industry partners.
- Large (circa €5m) and complex budget management
- Agency/supplier management – multiple agency relationships and contracted individuals
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Highly proficient oral and written English and German communication and presentation skills with an ability to influence others without authority.
- Experience work with global and regional brand marketing and adapting to new and emerging markets, either at agency or directly
Preferred
- Experience working in motorcycle or automotive industry
- Knowledge of the motorcycle industry, competitive brands, and products is preferred
- Motorcycle license not required but desired
- European languages (in addition to English and German) would be advantageous
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred location Germany or Czech Republic, must be within DACH or Eastern Europe.
This is a hybrid with flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work. It will require you to travel frequently within the DACH and Eastern Europe regions.
