QUALITY MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
SALARY: $83,200 -$114,000 or $40-$55 DATE: 12/13/24
Job Overview
JOB PURPOSE: The Quality Manager serves as the quality assurance and compliance resource for the organization. The Manager analyzes health center requirements, determines ways of ensuring protocols are followed throughout the organization, has/maintains a system to audit protocols for compliance, and institutes performance improvement plans when standards are not met. Develops an understanding of the EHR application functionality, reporting capabilities, interfacing, and integration associated with clinical applications assigned.

- Oversees updating, maintenance, and coordination of HH Department manuals and policies, and procedures
- Coordinates, tracks, and processes reports and trends regarding compliance activities
- Assists with monitoring, as necessary, compliance activities of HH departments
- Implements applications, tools, and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data in patient care and the provision of healthcare
- Assists with developing, coordinating, and leading in compliance education/training for staff
- Assists with application implementation and system customization including the development of alerts/hard stops, data integration, order generation, automation of document entry, and enforcement of adherence to workflows
- Provides technical support, diagnosis of application errors, and troubleshooting system issues
- Designs and implement educational and clinical services programs, support end-user training
- Assists individual departments in preparing for audits
- Assists with coordinating agency response to government investigations/claims
- Proactively identifies clinical problem areas and documents deficiency trends. Educates clinical staff regarding deficiencies
- Recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems
- Assists with the configuration and setup of new users within the clinical systems as they relate to the EHR
- Researches patient data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies and/or improve workflow
- Serves as a resource person for daily operational issues within the electronic health record
- Participates in performance improvement/practice transformation activities
- Manages and leads the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Meaningful Use within the facility
- Assists with Emergency Preparedness Planning
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Intermediate-level overall computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Advanced training/knowledge in QI/QA processes and compliance
- Demonstrated understanding of data collection, data validation, and data reporting processes
- Proven ability to multitask and manage priorities. High level of attention to detail
- Proven ability to work independently and maintain self-motivation
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and to deal effectively with diverse individuals at all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence
Experience:
- Experience working in a health care setting including experience working with electronic health record systems strongly preferred
- Three years of increasingly responsible healthcare operations experience preferred
- Medical terminology and understanding of workflows are critical
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality health care for low-income, ethnically diverse populations
- Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Knowledge of eMDs or EPIC program software is preferred but not required
- Proven project management skills

Ability to operate office equipment, including computer equipment. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, with occasional walking. Work is performed in a typical office environment with moderate equipment noise. Regular travel to all agency sites is required.
