WE have several shifts available. You can do one or all.
1. Every Saturday and Sunday 7am - 1pm
2. E/O Saturday and Sunday 1-11pm
You MUST have a Reliable Vehicle, CURRENT Driver's License (not permit) and inusrance for this job. You will be driving almost every day.
We are seeking an ON TIME and RELIABLE Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to ONE MALE individual in need of care.
The ideal candidate will have experience in various care-giving environments, especially in group homes or day programs for those with developmental disabilities or mood disorders.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing and grooming for this male.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation online on THERAP.
- Assist client with meal preparation according to his dietary requirments.
- Redirect when his behavior is not appropriate - he is not regularly physically aggressive, but his mood is labile. His mood is very affected by WHO is caregiving and if you fail to show up on time it is very hard on him and all around him. He COUNTS ON HIS STAFF.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for this client including helping him with his laundry and keeping his room clean.
- Support this client in daily activities and encourage social interaction inside and out of the home. You will be transporting him to activities or appointments in YOUR vehicle and be reimbursed for mileage. He must exercise every day.
- Monitor this client's physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' quality of life.
- Monitoring this client's behavior. If he is out of his room, you must be watching him at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in care-giving roles such as group homes is preferred - but it must be for more than 12 months at the same company.
- Knowledge of CPR/First Aid and medication administration practices is essential.
- Driver's License, Insurance and Reliable vehicle is NECESSARY for hire.
- Familiarity with care plans for individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. He is not generally aggressive but needs a great deal of redirection and guidance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Although this job is temporary (7 months ) it will likely be extended. AND if you are a good staff YOU WILL be guaranteed placement with fairy similar hours/pay
