PLEASE NOTE: You MUST live within 15 minutes of 55125 or 55129.
You MUST have a reliable vehicle, driver's license and insurance. You WILL drive at work and be reimbursed mileage.
The hours are EVERY Saturday and Sunday 3pm to 11pm.
Job Summary
You as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) will play a crucial role in providing support to a young woman with a spectrum disorder. This position involves working closely with a second staff to support her by keeping her active and entertained. She is very intelligent BUT impulsive and if not stimulated she will elope.
Duties
- Assist client with daily living activities, including meal preparation, house cleaning and medication administration.
- Monitor client's health and well-being, providing patient care as needed.
- Support client in social interactions and community engagement to enhance her quality of life.
- Maintain a clean and organized living space for client, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Document client progress and report any significant changes in behavior or health to supervisors.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to client, encouraging her independence and self-esteem.
Skills
- Experience in group home settings or mood modulation is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of working with people with disabilities (especially spectrum disorders).
- Proficiency in positive supports. (no holds).
- Ability to maintain cleanliness in living environments and adhering to safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- YOU MUST HAVE A RELIABLE VEHICLE OF YOUR OWN, DRIVER'S LICENSE AND INSURANCE.
- You must live within 15 minutes of her home in 55125.
