Position Overview:
The Clinical Counselor at Harmony Women's Recovery provides compassionate, evidence-based counseling services to women navigating early sobriety. This position focuses on delivering individual and group therapy, utilizing a client-centered approach to address substance use and co-occurring challenges. The Clinical Counselor supports clients in achieving long-term recovery through structured treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individual Counseling:
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to clients based on their individualized treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and 12-step facilitation.
- Assist clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms and relapse prevention strategies.
- Group Therapy:
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on addiction education, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and peer support.
- Encourage active participation and create a safe, supportive group environment.
- Use holistic methodologies, including mindfulness and other experiential practices, to enhance group sessions.
- Treatment Planning and Progress Monitoring:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate client progress and adjust treatment goals as needed.
- Document sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Client Advocacy and Support:
- Connect clients with community resources to address needs such as housing, employment, and legal assistance.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including case managers and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Actively support clients in meeting treatment milestones and achieving sobriety goals.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of all clinical services.
- Adhere to all licensing and accreditation standards, including client confidentiality requirements.
- Participate in audits and contribute to quality assurance efforts.
- Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care to clients.
- Attend team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to program development by sharing insights and feedback.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II) or greater.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience providing counseling services in a substance use treatment setting.
- Strong understanding of addiction recovery principles, including the 12-step model.
- Experience with co-occurring mental health disorders preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12 Step Experience
- Familiarity with holistic and experiential approaches, such as mindfulness, art therapy, or trauma-informed care.
- Experience working in women-focused recovery programs.
