Job Summary:
The Equipment Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Production Manager, supports the Tower, Remote Sensing, and Solar teams by inspecting, assembling, troubleshooting, and testing equipment to ensure safe and efficient field operations. Responsibilities include receiving shipments, managing inventory, and preparing equipment for deployment. The Equipment Maintenance Technician follows safety protocols, maintains accurate work records, and collaborates with team members to meet production goals. In partnership with the Production Manager, they prioritize safety, maintain a clean and organized shop, and embody the company's core values: Respect, Agility, and Follow-Through.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assemble and bench test equipment and assets for deployment to field teams.
- Safely operate hand and power tools to replace batteries, circuit boards, and sensors.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on company equipment, trucks, and trailers.
- Clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair returned assets, including 12-volt power systems.
- Load and unload equipment from delivery trucks and company vehicles; verify shipments, assist with packaging, and organize inventory.
- Manage inventory both physically and systemically, monitoring stock levels, conducting counts, and maintaining accurate records.
- Inspect purchase orders upon delivery, verifying the quality and quantity of received inventory. Escalate missing or defective equipment for replacement or resolution.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager and Project Coordinators on assigned projects.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, trucks, and trailers.
- Maintain organization, security, and cleanliness of the warehouse, shop, and outdoor storage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships while upholding company values of Respect, Agility, and Follow-Through.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Skilled in electro-mechanical assembly.
- Preferred experience in low-voltage power systems and troubleshooting.
- Capable of operating heavy machinery, including forklifts.
- Safety-oriented with a strong attention to workplace protocols.
- Proficient in software and computer programs, including Microsoft 365, Slack, HubSpot, ClickUp, and inventory management systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
- High level of integrity, dependability, and professionalism.
- Positive attitude with strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field (e.g., electronics, mechanics, industrial technology) preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a workshop, warehouse, manufacturing, or field service environment.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain one) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
- Ability to perform manual labor safely.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
