We are partnering with a global private equity firm, with a strong presence across real estate, credit platforms, and financial services. They are committed to leveraging AI and automation to enhance risk analysis, fraud detection, and operational efficiencies.
As they continue integrating AI into their business, they seek a Director of AI to build and lead an AI function that will connect LLMs to financial risk models, improve credit assessment automation, and enhance fraud detection strategies.
The Role
This position will establish and lead the company’s AI & automation division, driving cutting-edge machine-learning solutions to optimize credit risk assessment, underwriting, and fraud detection. You will have the opportunity to define the AI roadmap, build a high-performing team, and work directly with executive leadership and key stakeholders, while still being technically hands-on.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI agents for fraud detection, risk mitigation, and financial automation.
- Build AI-driven credit risk assessment and underwriting models to improve decision-making.
- Connect ChatGPT and LLMs to internal financial risk models for more reliable, explainable insights.
- Hire, manage, and mentor a growing AI team within the organization.
- Collaborate with C-level executives, risk teams, and IT departments to integrate AI solutions into business operations.
- Communicate technical roadmap and projects to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Python, Azure, and related technologies
Your Background and Expertise
- Proven experience in AI/ML in financial services, consulting, or related industries
- Experience utilizing AI for fraud detection, risk modeling, or financial automation
- Hands-on technical leader with expertise in AI model development and deployment
- Experience with leadership, and managing AI-driven transformations
- Player-coach mentality—strong coding and model-building skills while also leading and mentoring a team
- Excellent communication skills – able to explain AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
