Qualifications
Education: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, Bachelor Degree preferred. Minimum Level 4 Illinois Gateways Teacher Credentials
Experience: Two years of teaching experience in early childhood setting
Work is primarily indoors in nature, however some time will be spent outside on the playground. Must be able to stand for long periods and take the children on long walks throughout campus. For children’s safety must have the ability to quickly maneuver within the classroom and on the playground (running, rising from a floor position or child’s chair). Must be able to lift independently up to a 50lb. child. Must be flexible with schedule between 7:30am - 5:30pm.
Job Description
Works closely with other Early Childhood Educators and receives oral and/or written instructions from immediate supervisor on an ongoing basis.
Plans and implements the preschool program activities under the direction of the Early Childhood Lab School Supervisor.
Maintains a safe and healthy classroom and arranges a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy.
Overseas the practicum students from the Early Childhood Education program.
Assists in the management of the preschool classroom.
Interacts with the children, scaffolds learning and encourages their involvement in activities
Participates in parent involvement program
Reports classroom experiences and collaborates with the Early Childhood Lab School Supervisor.
Communicates with parents through meetings, newsletters and parent conferences.
Uses authentic assessment practices to assess learning and maintain cumulative records of children's development
Participates in registration process as required.
Attends professional meetings and maintains professional competence.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Priority will be given to applications submitted by April 30th.

The Business and Social Sciences Divisions provides transfer ready programs and courses in social science, such as anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology and sociology.
