Summary/Objective: Promotes the company mission statement while performing assigned duties and support within accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and inventory departments.
Essential Functions:
- Review accounts payable invoices, assign vendor numbers and similar identifying data, and confirms correct accounting codes are used.
- Enter vendor information into accounting software system with strong accuracy.
- Issue payments to vendors as approved.
- Process routine monthly payments as approved.
- Answer vendor questions by researching accounts.
- Prepare monthly inventory control reports.
- Perform special, non-recurring assignments in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide back up for teammates who are away from the office.
- Understand and effectively utilize existing Company IT hardware and software in the overall performance of job duties.
- Provide positive service to customers or vendors, both on the phone and personally.
- Assist customers and vendors with their needs, questions, complaints and suggestions.
- Make note of concerns and direct issues to the appropriate person.
- Assist with answering telephone calls and redirect to appropriate person.
- Take messages when required and relay appropriately.
- Portray Harper General Contractors in a positive light to customers and vendors.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Experience with accounting software preferred.
- Must be punctual and have excellent attendance record.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with some bookkeeping coursework.
- Associates degree preferred.
- One year of related experience required.

Work Environment: Typical office hours. Hours may vary depending on demand. 80% Sitting, 20% Standing or Walking.
Physical Demands: Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work. No special physical demands are required in this role but usually involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. There may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, driving an automobile, etc. While this work typically is not physically demanding, it can be mentally demanding, with many deadlines needing to be met consistently.
Travel Required: Travel requirements are based on Project Assignment. When assigned to a project outside of your Primary Work Area or Geographical Work Area you will follow the guidelines in our “Travel Policy.” Include this? There may be a business need for overnight stays when working on a project some distance from your assigned office.
