Summary/Objective:

Promotes the company mission statement by assisting the ESD Division Manager, Director of Human Resources and Safety, ESD Superintendents, and others in specific areas of personnel and safety management. The Safety and workforce Development Coordinator, ESD follows corporate policies and procedures, with direction and supervision of corporate HR/Safety and Division Manager to complete the assigned duties. The Safety and Workforce Development Coordinator, ESD uses discretion and sound judgment to complete assigned duties efficiently and effectively within established parameters.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Inspect jobsites with safety walk.
  • Create site-specific safety plans.
  • Coordinate and support safety training.
  • Create, develop, and foster working relationships internally and externally.
  • Track safety metrics.
  • Assist Superintendent and Project Manager with safety and quality control.
  • Assist the Director, Human Resources and Safety and Health; and ESD Division Managers.
  • Manage safety inspections.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to improve safety program.
  • Support Superintendent with consultative and compliance inspections.
  • Support field staff as needed to meet personal and professional objectives.
  • Assist in recruiting.
  • Assist in the skill development training of the craftsman labor force.
  • Coordinate with HR for onboarding of new hires.
  • Coordinate moving and tracking crew assignments.
  • Track training progress of each employee.
  • Document training.
  • Support performance management process.
  • Administer personnel actions.
  • Stock and carry safety supplies.
  • Maintain and improve client relations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

 

Work Environment: This position is required to work in a variety of conditions relative to construction jobsite environments and must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, as assigned. Exposure to weather, heat, etc. is expected.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Weather and climate conditions will vary throughout the progress of a project and applicant must be able to inspect all ongoing construction activities over the duration of the assigned project.
  • This role requires walking over varied terrain, climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Lifting requirements vary from minimal loads to heavy; but help is always available with heavier loads.
  • Inspection for quality, consistency and completeness of work frequently requires climbing ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
  • Driving a company-owned vehicle is required to perform duties. A valid state-issued license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, safe driving behavior, and adherence to our Driving and Truck Policy are required.

 

Travel Required: Daily travel to/from multiple jobsites, projects, and offices. Minimal overnight or weekend travel.

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • 4-year degree or higher – or working equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant experience will be considered.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Military experience a plus.

 

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Environmental, health, and safety education a plus.
  • Various safety certifications are a plus.
