Are you an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in both front and back-of-house operations? The Long Trail Brewery Pub and Restaurant in Bridgewater, VT, is seeking a Manager to oversee all aspects of our guest experience, service, and kitchen operations. This is a hands-on leadership role, ensuring seamless collaboration between FOH and BOH teams while maintaining high standards of hospitality, efficiency, and food quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Oversee both FOH and BOH teams, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional guest experiences.
- Recruit, hire, train, and onboard FOH & BOH staff, with a focus on service standards, kitchen execution, and teamwork.
- Review and process payrol bi-weekly.
- Schedule and manage staffing levels to balance labor costs and operational needs.
- Conduct routine individual and team meetings, staff evaluations, and performance coaching.
- Lead by example as Manager on Duty (MOD), supervising all floor and kitchen operations.
Operations & Service Excellence
- Maintain seamless coordination between FOH & BOH, ensuring timely service and high-quality food & beverage execution.
- Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency in service, kitchen execution, and cleanliness.
- Oversee bar and draft program, ensuring proper ordering, inventory, and service standards.
- Ensure all health, safety, and compliance standards are met, including ServSafe and allergen awareness protocols.
- Act as the point person for private events, ensuring FOH & BOH teams are aligned on execution.
Manager on Duty Responsibilities
- Lead daily service operations across both FOH and BOH.
- Motivate, coach, and hold staff accountable for delivering an outstanding guest experience.
- Monitor service quality, food execution, and guest satisfaction, stepping in to problem-solve when necessary.
- Manage financial responsibilities, including cash handling, POS oversight, and labor controls.
- Ensure proper kitchen execution, inventory management, and cleanliness standards are upheld.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a hybrid FOH/BOH leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of both service operations and kitchen management, with a passion for hospitality.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach and develop a team.
- Experience managing food safety, inventory, and ordering for kitchen operations.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to jump into any role as needed.
- Proficiency in POS systems (Toast preferred) and cash-handling procedures.
- Valid TIPS, ServSafe Manager, and Allergen Awareness certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
