Role Overview
- This role involves managing accounts payable, posting payments, tracking patient payment plans, assisting with month-end financial reporting, and collaborating to improve financial operations and streamline processes. The Finance & Payment Specialist will work closely with the Financial Controller, CFO, and billing specialists to ensure accurate financial records, facilitate payment collection, and assist with internal and external audits.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable and Vendor ManagementVerify, code, and post accounts payable invoices and corporate card transactions
Issue vendor payments and track payment schedulesCollect, maintain, and update vendor documentation, including W-9 forms, contracts and payment termsTrack contract expiration dates and notify the CFO or Financial Controller of required renewals or renegotiationsAssist in organizing and archiving financial documents for audit readinessAssist in month-end financial reporting and reconciliation tasks.Evaluate current financial processes and propose automation or procedural improvementsPayroll and Employee ReimbursementsSupport payroll processing by reviewing timesheets, verifying entries, and ensuring accurate tracking of Paid Time Off (PTO)
Process and reconcile employee expense reimbursement in accordance with company policyPayment Processing, Reconciliation, and Fund CollectionProcess and post payments for patients
Verify payment details to ensure accuracy and correct application of funds to accounts.Generate and issue patient statements and follow up on overdue balances to ensure timely collection.Collaborate with billing specialists to resolve discrepancies in payment postings, insurance adjustments, and patient account balances.Coordinate with billing specialists to process sliding fee applications and ensure the approved status is accurately reflected in patient accounts.Professionally communicate with patients to resolve billing inquires and negotiate payment plans.Serve as an additional point of contact for patients with complex billing issuesAudit and Compliance SupportGather, organize, and provide necessary documentation for internal and external audits

Education
Associate"s or Bachelor"s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.Experience
At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable, accounting, or a related financial role is preferred.Certifications
An IFOL Certified Accounts Payable Specialist (CAPP), AIPB Certified Bookkeeper (CB), or APA Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) are preferredSkills
Excellent understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Proficiency with accounting software (MIP preferred), payroll software (Rippling preferred), and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication skills.Ability to collaborate in a team environment.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.Job Type
