POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing our company’s financial health by managing budgets, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial advice to senior management to support decision-making.
OBJECTIVES
- Creating and reviewing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyzing financial data to identify trends, assess performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Accountable for taxes and working with our CPA
- As appropriate, coordinates with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Prepares periodic data and reports weekly and monthly for CEO to analyze.
- Provides customers with assistance, cattle checks and customer inventory.
- Developing and managing budgets across different departments, monitoring spending against budget allocations.
- Prepare payroll for employees
- Supervising financial staff and overseeing day-to-day financial operations.
COMPETENCIES
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of finance professionals.
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Highly proficient with accounting software. (QuickBooks)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and accounting roles
- Experience managing teams and driving for results
- Capital investment and asset acquisition
PREFERED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in accounting for multiple business units within a single company
- Familiarity with EOS
- Cattle or Ag industry knowledge
- Entrepreneurial mindset
