Director – Renewables Tax Partnership Reporting
Location: New Haven, CT or Boston, MA
Schedule: On-site, 5 days/week (no remote option)
Compensation:
- New Haven, CT: $177,000 – $220,000
- Boston, MA: $185,000 – $230,000
Are you a seasoned tax professional with a passion for renewables and deep expertise in partnership taxation? We’re hiring a Director – Renewables Tax Partnership Reporting to lead tax strategy, compliance, and reporting for our clean energy joint ventures—LLCs, partnerships, and tax equity structures.
This is a high-impact, office-based leadership role where you’ll guide a skilled team and work closely with finance, legal, and business teams to support our renewable energy investments.
What You’ll Do
- Lead tax accounting and reporting for renewable joint ventures, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and SEC requirements.
- Oversee execution of SOX controls tied to quarterly and annual financials.
- Perform tax research and draft technical memos on new business transactions and complex structures.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders as the primary tax liaison for the Renewables team.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting for JV-related tax impacts.
- Manage and mentor internal and co-sourced tax professionals.
- Improve processes and implement tools that boost reporting quality and efficiency.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax
- 10 years of relevant experience in corporate or partnership taxation
- Solid understanding of:
- Subchapter K
- US GAAP and IFRS tax accounting
- SEC tax reporting
- SOX compliance processes
Nice to Have
- Master’s in Taxation, JD, or CPA
- Experience with Tax Equity Investment (TEI) Partnerships
- Familiarity with Hypothetical Liquidation at Book Value (HLBV)
- Background in the renewable energy sector
