Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. However, the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention, and adult services.

Deputy Director Overview:
Under the supervision of the Financial & Business Services Director, this position is responsible for assisting with the division wide management of Operations and Information Technology.

Deputy Director Overview:

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision for the program manager and administrative assistant.
- Participates in overall program planning, problem-solving, policy development, personnel issues, and decision-making as a member of the specialized management team.
- Approves timesheets on a biweekly basis for assigned staff.
- Prioritizes and communicates operational needs to Division Director.
- Oversees implementation, management and maintenance of agency software applications.
- Manages policies/procedures development, strategic planning, and building efficiencies related to information technology.
- Provides oversight to invoice tracking and resolution of problem invoices.
- Coordinates interaction within Harris County Resources for Children and Adults, other county departments and other agencies.
- Participates in the coordination of client management system training for new staff.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of full-time paid experience in the IT field.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership role managing enterprise applications.
- Training and experience using a personal computer with a variety of software such as Microsoft Word, Excell, and PowerPoint.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license (Texas) and auto liability insurance.
- Self-disciplined and responsible in handling tasks and responsibilities.
- Detail-oriented and innovative, continuously seeking ways to improve processes.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong knowledge of employment selection processes and public relations.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated flexibility, tact, and diplomacy in interactions with others.
