Position Description
The Emergency Systems Generator Manager is responsible for coordinating with contractors and employees to ensure the operational readiness of various equipment, including all generators in OCE inventory, and as assigned. This position requires strong verbal/written communication ability and proficient computer skills. Job tasks include but not limited to processing invoicing, scheduling service calls, managing maintenance schedules, coordinating repairs and installations, preparing reports and answering emails, attending coordination meetings, directly testing, supervising, managing OCE generators and others as assigned, and communicating with various entities about generator project status and timelines.

Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week.
Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods.
Physical Demands and Environmental Exposure:
Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Schedule generator contractor installations and service calls for equipment repairs and coordinate site visits with Harris County representatives.
- Create and implement preventative maintenance schedules for OCE and client generators and various equipment as directed.
- Prepare and present generator equipment status and expenditure reports as directed.
- Review applicable fire, safety, and EPA codes against specs and installed equipment on-site to determine compliance.
- Collect, organize, and maintain documentation and data for the Jurisdiction Having Authority inspection.
- Communicate with facility tenants concerning generator and other project timelines and disruptions to facility operations.
- Manage emergency installations as needed or assigned.
- This position will require that you attend training and classes as directed.
- Assist with Harris County Disaster Recovery Effort.
- This position will require that drive a personal or county vehicle to various project sites.
- The position may require you to climb stairs or ladders to access the project site.
- This position will require working early mornings, evenings, and emergency events are needed.
- This position will require performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Five (5) years’ experience in generator installation management or design or related electrical experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong Verbal and Written communication skills.
- Understand Financial Business Processes.
- Organizational and time management skills
- Strong Grammatical Skills
Preferences
Education
- College degree or some relevant college courses.
- A/B Operator License.
- Electrician Certifications or license.
- Six (6) years hand-on experience in the maintenance and or service of Natural Gas and Diesel Generators.
- Intermediate understanding of electromechanics and the practical application used in generators, transfer switches, paralleling switchgears, docking stations.
- Basic understanding of the terms, theory, and trade practices used in electrical industry.
- Knowledge in applying the National Electrical Code and National Safety Code regarding requirements for installing, testing, and service Emergency Power Supply Systems.
- Contract Management Experience
- Knowledge of Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with SharePoint Websites
- Ability to Read construction drawings and blueprints.
- Mechanical Aptitude.
