Position Overview:

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of assigned clients to document strengths, needs, goals, and resources.
- Intern will be responsible for documenting all contact with client in a strength-based manner.
- Maintains effective communications with clients, substance abuse and/or mental healthcare providers, collateral resources and other staff on behalf of clients.
- Advocates on behalf of client with outside service providers and within the Maternal Mental Health Program
- Attends and participates in team meetings to provide input/feedback around psychosocial and medical conditions/comorbidities to review client status, update plans and goals, review outcomes to further program goals.
- Participates in individual and group supervision, treatment team meetings, case conferences, and other staff development activities as assigned.
- Conducts outreach activities to inform community groups/agencies about Maternal Mental Health Program services.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or a related field is required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance(Texas upon hire)

Enrollment in a Master's program in Social Work (MSW) or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT).
Experience:
- One (1) year of experience in healthcare services may substitute for enrollment in a master's program.
- Part-Time | Temp
- Monday – Friday | 30 hours per week
- Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however, days and times may vary to include evenings and weekends due to operational needs and community events.
- Expected to travel within Harris County jurisdiction.
Work Environment:
- This job operates in a professional office environment with occasional visits needed to private residential homes, clinics, and other community organizations.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
- This is a largely sedentary role; however, some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
