What you will do at the Department of Economic Equity and Opportunity:
The Project Monitor is a member of the Vendor Diversity Program at the Harris County Department of Economic Equity & Opportunity. As part of the Inclusive Procurements Division, the Vendor Diversity Program ensures minority-owned, woman-owned businesses and businesses owned by disadvantaged individuals can compete fairly for County contracts. The Project Monitor is responsible for the daily operations of contractors overseeing progress of sub-awards and payments to minority-owned, women-owned and businesses owned by other disadvantaged individuals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversees contractor submittals and database maintenance, resolves issues, conducts audits and develops corrective action plans when needed.
Utilizes and manages the contract compliance software for each assigned project preserving the integrity of the information and system.
Maintains records, uploads related documents, manages reports, monitors contractor/subcontractor utilization and reporting within the system.
Supports production of reports and presentations and other submissions required on the MWBE and DBE programs to Commissioners Court, the Federal Transit Authority, public reporting, and others as identified for Vendor Equity.
Reviews and maintains proper records for contract compliance and reporting requirements including subcontractor substitutions, recalculated goals, and sanctions, if warranted, to for the MWBE and DBE programs.
Works across department with peers in other groups to ensure collaboration for shared goals.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and
Three (3) years of experience in Contract Compliance, or a related field
OR
Associate degree in any field or 60 hours of secondary education credits from an accredited college or university and
One (1) year of experience in Contract Compliance, or a related field
Licensure:
Must have a valid Driver’s License (TX upon hire)

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
Full-Time | Regular
Monday – Friday | Subject to frequent early morning, evening, weekend, emergency, and holiday work.
Work Environment:
Visits to indoor and outdoor work locations.
May be exposed to fluids, compounds or chemicals used in office environments and outdoor work areas.
Work is performed indoors in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, air conditions and noise levels, as well as a large percentage of time spent outdoors with exposure to heat, humidity, rain, wind, and storm conditions.
Physical Demands:
Extensive use of vehicle and mobile device. This includes utilizing your personal and/or county vehicle.
Sitting for extended periods of time with frequent standing and walking and occasional ascending/descending stairs.
Occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of constant force necessary to move objects.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to Position: Sr. Program Manager, Vendor Diversity
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
