What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Mentor position at Harris Home for Children?
Harris Home is currently seeking highly-motivated individuals to provide on-going life skills development, including money management, tutoring, personal development, career development and healthy life style, behavior education and stress management for youth ages 13-18. We guide the residents through the process of getting their high school diploma or GED and also assist in applying to college or trade school. The youth in our programs receive an individualized skills and service plan that include meeting their physical, educational, medical, social and emotional needs.
Our resident housing is comprised of Cottage and dormitory style living environment where youth are provided with supported independence, as well as opportunities to develop the necessary skills to live on their own. Harris Home also offers educational and enrichment opportunities for youth by way of our after school program called BOOST which provides the youth with tutoring support. We also offer recreational support with an on campus gym that has an indoor basketball court and game room. Harris Home provides onsite staff support 7 days a week.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $21.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
