About Our Firm:
Our personal injury attorneys have over a decade of experience fighting for the rights of injured victims. Our law firm only represents people injured in car accidents, dog bites, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death and other similar injuries caused by the negligence of others. Our personal injury attorneys help injured victims seek compensation for suffering an injury from another person’s negligence.
Current Opening: Paralegal position in our San Luis Obispo office located at 1025 Farmhouse Ln., #2F San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.
You are the right candidate if you have:
- Clear and effective communicator with a commitment to responsiveness and problem-solving
- Solid understanding of the personal injury process
- Desire and passion to help those in need
- Highly detail-oriented, with superb organizational, interpersonal and writing skills
- Ability to work in a very fast paced environment
- Capable of multitasking in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented setting under direct supervision
- Understanding of medical terms and experience reviewing medical reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a litigation-paralegal
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with preparing all legal documents, organizing discovery and responses to discovery demands
- Solid understanding of civil litigation (state deadlines and rules)
- Depositions - Setting, hiring court reporter/videographer, notices, preparing docs for attending attorney, obtaining transcripts/video - Common responsive pleadings (i.e. Response to DME, Response to Depo Ntc with RFPs, Oppo to Mtn, etc.)
- Articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Assistance with trial preparation
- Effectively manage the attorneys calendar
- Setting up a new case for success and updating checklist
- Handle all communication tasks like records request, sending checks out, etc.
Overview:
This position is full-time and in office. We are looking for an applicant who is proactive, a fast-learner, and has a great positive attitude. Salary is commensurate upon experience. Bachelors Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Bilingual skills are preferred, but not necessary. Health insurance and 401(k) benefits available after probationary period.
