What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Operations Specialist position at Harris Teeter?

Summary: Support day-to-day operations of pharmacies within a district or region. Assume overall responsibility for providing training on the technical and clinical aspects to associates in order to execute company strategies and achieve financial targets. Provide district support for all operations related functions, including training, best practices, compliance, and standards.

“Take Excellent care of our Customers and our Fellow associates. Improve the health of our patients, our associates and their families. Provide the absolute best customer service and patient care in each of our Pharmacy markets as measured by each and every customer.”

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Be an example for leading World Class Customer Service.

Assist in rolling out new standards and best practices developed by Pharmacy Operations and monitoring compliance to those standards and best practices.

Provide feedback to Regional and Corporate teams on opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.

Complete scheduling processes to properly staff all stores with required pharmacists during operating hours

Produce and assemble materials and documents needed for meetings, training sessions, presentations and other day-to-day needs.

Prepare, read and understand inventory preparation and reporting documents.

Maintain communications between pharmacists and Pharmacy Operations Managers.

Create reports/spreadsheets.

Supervise and coordinate training events/activities.

Provide reporting and follow through for product recalls, contests, recaps, etc.

Observes to validate best practices and behaviors are in place with all associates. Celebrate, coach, teach, and train where appropriate.

Provide coaching, teaching and training to support action plans developed for a location.

Ensure associates receive the appropriate training and are capable of resolving issues independently.

Ensure associates complete all required training programs.

Collaborate with Pharmacy Operations Managers on delivering overall goals/initiatives.

Support compliance with recordkeeping and occurrence reporting.

Support pharmacy rollout plans.

Travel to assist with pharmacy rollout plans.

Education/Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age

High School Diploma or GED, required

National Pharmacy Technician certification, preferred

National Pharmacy Technician certification must be obtained within 9 months of being hired into this job

Two years certified technician experience, preferred

Strong attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with regional and store personnel

Excellent leadership, team building, organization, problem-solving, computer and oral/written communication skills

Proficient Microsoft Office skills

Proficient EasyFill Pharmacy Retail Network (EPRN) skills

Valid driver’s license
