WHAT WE NEED:
The Town of Harrisburg currently has an employment opportunity in our Communications Department for a Communications Manager. Under the direction of the Communications Director, an employee in this class is responsible for assisting in communicating and coordinating the dissemination of information to employees, and the public, through print and digital communication. The position provides advanced administrative and professional assistance to the Communications Director and is also responsible for assisting other Town departments with various communication needs and marketing projects. Develop, produce, and distribute promotional and collateral materials for Town events and programs. Under the general supervision and direction of the Communications Director, work is evaluated through observation, conferences, and the effectiveness of campaigns offered. It includes tasks involving a high degree of responsibility, discretion, and confidentiality. Normal office hours are usually maintained; however, occasional overtime or unscheduled work may be necessary in accordance with operational demands. Work requires occasional weekends and nights.
DESIREABLE CANDIDATE:
Requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in communications, journalism, business administration, public relations, or marketing; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience in local government and graphic design is a plus.

Salary range for position is $57,474 - $85,511. The hiring range is $57,474 - $70,091 and starting salary will be dependent on qualifications and prior experience. Upon hire will be eligible for $3,500 sign-on bonus.
