The Transfer and Degree Audit Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the academic success of our students. This position is responsible for evaluating transfer credits, conducting degree audits, and providing support and guidance to students regarding their academic progress. The Specialist also manages academic processes, maintains the Dean's List, and communicates effectively with students regarding their academic standing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate transfer credits from other institutions to determine applicability towards degree requirements.
- Conduct degree audits for students to ensure they are on track to meet graduation requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to students regarding academic policies, procedures, and degree requirements.
- Build degree audit requirements in student information system and planning software and maintain requirements according to curriculum changes.
- Assist students with course selection and registration.
- Maintain accurate student records related to academic progress.
- Manage the honor’s list process, including identifying and communicating with eligible students.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to resolve student academic issues.
- Develop and maintain resources and materials related to transfer credit and degree audit processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field (or equivalent and relevant work experience).
- Experience working in higher education, preferably in a registrar's office.
- Strong knowledge of academic policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in student information systems and degree audit software.
