Position Summary: The Controls Inside Sales Engineer is essential to our sales and project planning processes. This role involves assessing project requirements, developing cost estimates, preparing proposals, and ensuring seamless communication between sales and operations teams. You will play a key role in ensuring that building automation systems are implemented efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

- Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed, itemized proposals for the sales team, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Site Walkthroughs: Participate in initial site visits to assess existing building conditions and requirements.
- Sales Collaboration: Work with the sales team to finalize proposals and ensure smooth handover to the operations team.
- Project Coordination: Assist project managers in transitioning from estimation to execution, addressing any issues that arise.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as a technical resource for the sales and controls teams, and support preliminary system designs.
- Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in control systems to recommend innovative solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain organized records of all project-related documentation, including estimates and proposals.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Alternatively, relevant technical certifications or degrees in HVAC, automation, electrical, or control systems are considered.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or a related field within the building controls, automation, or HVAC industries.
- Experience with control systems such as HVAC controls, lighting controls, energy management systems, or PLCs is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop accurate and competitive project estimates.
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting technical data and construction documents.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
